Rate Increase Took Effect in December 2024

Delivery Rate Change Takes Effect (Dec. 2024)

At the 2024 Annual Meeting, the Cooperative’s leadership discussed the fact that a delivery rate change would occur by the end of the year, given inflation’s impact on operating costs. An announcement of a rate change was sent with the September 2024 bills, and a public hearing was held on October 28th for interested members. The rate change takes effect this month.

For residential, seasonal, and general service delivery rates, the customer charge has increased by $8.15 per month. Even with the increase, EMEC’s $19.11 residential customer charge remains lower than that of Versant and CMP.
The large commercial rate customer charge has increased by $48.90/month, and its demand charge has increased by $0.60/kW. The delivery charge for security lights and street lights increased by $1.12.

This is the first delivery  rate increase since  March of 2019, and the present Standard Offer Supply price will remain at 5.9 cents/kWh until the end of October 2025.
